Sign up for the Annual Greased Pig contest at the Park County Fair, Sunday, July 21st in Fairplay, Colorado starting at 11 am. The Greased Pig is open to any child up to age 9. A parent or legal guardian must register their child 30 minutes prior to each performance at the Joe Linch Arena Entrance. The entry fee of $20 per child is payable at the time of registration. Children will be broken into 4 age groups on the day of the contest, each age group will run in its own race. The pig will be greased and the hands of the contestants will also be greased. The pig will be turned loose in the arena. Once the signal is given, contestants may go after the pig. Once a contestant gets control of the pig, they will be declared the winner. Contestants can NOT have their feet leave the ground at any time. NO JUMPING on the pig. NO LEAPING on the pig. NO TACKLING the pig. If any of these actions are observed it will result in immediate disqualification. If the winning contestant does not want the pig, the Park County Fair Board will keep the pig.

For safety reasons, all contestants must wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and sturdy shoes or boots. One adult may accompany the contestant into the rodeo arena. No food or drinks allowed into the arena. Parents who wish to enter the arena with their child should wear sturdy shoes. Adults are expected to follow instructions from Rodeo volunteers and pig handlers.
